Mouth ulcers are common and can have a variety of causes. Sometimes they are acute and will heal within a few weeks but other times they become a recurring condition. Injuries in the mouth, low levels of certain vitamins, hormonal changes, and certain diseases can all lead to recurring mouth ulcers. Because of the multiple possible causes of mouth ulcers, multiple types of ingredients are used in this formulation. Mary’s mouthwash contains an antihistamine, an antifungal, an antibiotic, and a steroid. These ingredients provide pain relief while reducing infections.
General mouth irritation may be caused by injuries like those that come from biting the cheek or tongue, from burning the mouth with hot drink or food, and from gum disease. Treatments for cancer like radiation and chemotherapy may also cause stomatitis. Mary’s mouthwash is frequently prescribed for multiple types of oral pain. Other types of magic mouthwash formulations are also available from our pharmacy.
